Director of Business Development

The position:
In close cooperation with the CEO, he/she will be responsible for the
management of all activities related to business development, licensing
and strategic planning within the Company.

Specific functions and responsibilities for this position include:

- Search of business opportunities for the Company through licensing-in,
licensing -out, co-development or strategic agreements.

- Analysis of any business opportunity from strategic, scientific, regulatory, legal, intellectual property, market and economical perspective, in close cooperation with all the Departments of the Company.

- Project Management supervision of any licensing-in project till its integration to the corresponding departments of the Company.

- Analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Compounds in R&D, considering chemical, pharmaceutical, pharmacological, medical and therapeutic properties of Compounds.

- Systematic examination of other Companies R&D pipelines and market information to direct Company's R&D to market opportunities. The BD Director will supply regularly to the other Directors in the Company all relevant information regarding Compounds in the same areas and market perspectives.

- Upon CEO's request, draw up proposals of licensing strategies for Compounds in R&D.

- Review, analysis and implementation of patent strategy for Compounds in pipeline, in cooperation with the R&D Department.

- Updated maintenance of databases and any information sources on R&D pipelines, search activities of other Companies, partnership policies of main players at the pharmaceutical scenario.

Qualifications/Experience required:

- Bachelor's degree in life Science (Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology or equivalent).
- Master in Business Administration (MBA), similar or Executive Training.
- At least 10 years experience in pharmaceutical business development in an international team.
- Additional experience in marketing, project management, medical affairs or any technical areas within the Pharmaceutical Industry preferred.
- Knowledge of all areas and activities involved in the pharmaceutical business development analysis and implementation.
- English language at high level is a must.
- Availability to travel frequently.
- Position based in Madrid (Spain).
